"Only the misfortune of exile can provide the in-depth understanding and the overview into the realities of the world" said Stefan Zweig.
As he claims the "realities" now on earth are: refugees, mass human traffic, demographic changes of the habitats, pain, grief and many sad stories of wars.
Anatolia had hosted refugees from different ethnic and religious groups of millions and has been hosting them for many centuries, who escaped from wars and conflict zones.
So, if you are a Turkish citizen living in the modern society of Turkey, your ancestors
-not too far ago- maybe your grandfather, might have been born somewhere else, out of the borders of Turkish Republic.
He might have left his homeland, family estates and belongings as a result of population exchange; and, he might have started his journey -thereby yours- through life in Turkey. This
is very common and "normal" for Turks.
Also for Turks, it is also not a big deal to welcome people with open arms to the suffering people from abroad. However, this time, the load is very heavy, the damage is enormous and
exodus to shrouded in mystery.
Twenty photographs from ten photographers are attempting to tell the viewer visual stories of this "human condition" on some different levels.
